I've decided that spring Saturdays are some of the busiest times of the year for many people. Yard and garden projects, planting, trimming and cleanup are waiting to be done. The weather is also usually just about right, without the summer bugs, for enjoying lots of outdoor activities - ranging from picnics to ball games, fishing, hiking, you name it.
May, in general, is a busy month, with end-of-the-year school programs, awards and graduations, Mother's Day and other special events.
One of those special events is the annual Walnut Ridge Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast. This year's event is Saturday from 6:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Walnut Ridge School's Van Ellis Cafeteria. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door, while children six and under eat free.
The club uses the funds to support a variety of good causes, primarily those helping children and youth in the county. The WRHS Key Club is also helping and benefits from the breakfast, as well. Why not start your busy day with a hearty breakfast and visit with friends and neighbors, while also supporting a worthy cause?
We thank you in advance!
