LawCo. athletes shine

The Crowley's Ridge Academy senior high track team competed in the district meet on Thursday at Kennett, Mo.
The CRA boys placed first in 11 events to claim the district title with 241 total points, while the girls team placed second with 131 points.
Several Lawrence County athletes performed well for the Falcons.
In boys competition, Matt Wall won three events to claim boys high-point honors. Wall placed first in the triple jump (37'8"), the long jump (18'7") and the 110-meter hurdles (19.1 seconds).
Sully Bigger also recorded three firsts, winning the 400-meter run (59.2 seconds), the 1,600-meter run (5:07) and the 3,200-meter run (12:15). He finished second in the triple jump and was a member of the 3,200-meter relay team, which placed first.
Jake Bigger was a member of the 1,600-meter relay team, which finished first.
In girls competetion, Ashlyn Abbott recorded two first-place finishes and three second-place finishes to earn high-point honors. Abbott won the long jump (14'6.75") and the 200-meter dash (29.44). She placed second in the triple jump (29'3"), the 100-meter dash (13.78) and the 400-meter run (1:11). She was also a member of the 1,600-meter relay team that placed first.
Audrey Jane Hicks won the 1,600-meter run with a time of 6:29 and the 3,200-meter run in 14:35. She was fifth in the long jump (12'11.5"). She was also a member of the 3,200-meter relay team that placed first.
Gracie Hicks was fourth in the 1,600-meter run (7:04) and fifth in the 800-meter run (3:23).
