Lady Bobcats end
season at district

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcat softball team defeated Maynard 13-3 in the 2A-3 District Tournament on April 25 at Marked Tree.
Sabrina Knight led the Lady Cats at the plate, going 3-for-3 and scoring three runs. Ashlyn Cothern went 2-for-4 and scored a run. Felisha Price batted 2-for-3 and scored a run. Hannah Massey went 1-for-4.
Brittany Dobbs went 1-for-4 and scored a run. Christin Holsapple went 1-for-3 and scored two runs. Hannah Doane batted 1-for-4 and scored two runs. Raven Dobbs scored two runs, and Dylane Brown scored a run.
Massey started in the circle and allowed two hits while striking out two batters in the five-inning contest.
Quarterfinals
The victory advanced Walnut Ridge to the quarterfinal round, where they faced host Marked Tree on Thursday.
The Lady Indians shut out Walnut Ridge 10-0, as Peyton Carter tossed a one-hitter and registered 14 strikeouts. Doane had the Lady Cats' only hit.
