Sedgwick receives grant
for drainage project

The town of Sedgwick recently received a Community Development Block Grant to make street and drainage improvements on Smith Avenue, off Highway 63, across the tracks, in Sedgwick.
According to Mayor Stanley Debow, Sedgwick received a General Assistance Grant from the Arkansas Economic Development Commission in the amount of $202,566.
David Hopkins of Landmark Engineering is the project engineer, and Candy Jones is the grant administrator. Harryette Shue is the AEDC project manager, and Jennifer Chun is the grant analyst for the AEDC.
A pre-construction conference was held April 18 at the Sedgwick Community Center.
AEDC representatives, city officials and representatives of Cossˇ Construction of Little Rock were on hand to discuss plans for the project.
Cosse Construction was the low bidder and was awarded the contract in the amount of $147,000. Construction was to begin this week and is expected to be finished by July 22.
