City annexes land, tightens belt

At their meeting on April 10, Walnut Ridge's city council finalized the annexation of property along Midway Road, discussed ways to minimize the city's budget and discussed the paperwork problem with a plane the city traded a helicopter for in 2008.

Questions rise over helicopter, plane swap

Mayor Don House told the city council that a lot of inquiries have been made about the possible sale of the city's airplane, which they had hoped to sell but have not been able to find the paperwork needed for the transaction.

Hoxie to create park

The Hoxie City Council approved the designation of abandoned property at 108 Northeast Fourth Street for the purpose of creating a community park.

Rainfall was just in time

Lawrence County missed out on forecasted severe weather Sunday night but benefitted from the approximately one inch of rainfall that the system brought.
