The Walnut Ridge Bobcats dropped an 8-5 decision to the Marmaduke Greyhounds in 2A-3 baseball action on Thursday at Marmaduke.
The Greyhounds led 8-0 after six innings. Walnut Ridge attempted to rally, coming up with five runs in the top of the seventh inning, which included a grand slam by Hunter Flippo.
Walnut Ridge swept a doubleheader from the Maynard Tigers by identical scores of 15-0 on April 3 at Stewart Park.
Tyler Dickson and Layne Ditto tossed back-to-back no-hitters for the Bobcats.
Dickson pitched the first game and finished with four strikeouts and one walk in the three-inning contest.
Offensively, Walnut Ridge was led by Zach Carson, who went 3-for-3, including a three-run homer, and had four RBIs. Eric Wilcoxson, Peyton Poole, Dickson and Flippo each had two hits.
In the nightcap, Ditto fanned eight batters and didn't allow a walk.
At the plate, Ditto had two hits and scored two runs. Tyler Andrews had two hits and three RBIs.
Walnut Ridge defeated 2A-3 conference opponent Cross County 15-3 on April 2 at Stewart Park.
Baron Estes was the winning pitcher. He allowed three runs on two hits, while registering 10 strikeouts in five innings of work.
Cash Lee, Clay Hufstedler and Flippo each had two hits and two RBIs.
