Ricky Meeks and Shelby Harris, both of Annieville, have announced the birth of a son, born on April 2, 2012, at St. Bernard's Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed seven pounds, and has been named Kaden Meeks. He has one sibling, Mason Lecyle Meeks, 20 months.

Madden ~ Cashion

Wesley Jay Madden and Tamra Ann Cashion were married Feb. 25, 2012, at the Mississippi Agriculture & Forestry Museum in Jackson, Miss.

The groom is the son of Randy Madden of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Ruthie Madden of Walnut Ridge. He is the grandson of Rita McGinnis and the late Jimmy Dan McGinnis.

The bride is the daughter of Joe Cashion of Crystal Springs, Miss., and Selena Cashion of Crystal Springs, Miss. She is the granddaughter of Mary Cashion, Ann Souder and the late Vernon Mullen and the great-granddaughter of Allie Gregory.

They reside in Byram, Miss., where Wesley is an underground utilities technician for Telepak Networks and Tamra is a teacher for Pearl Public School District.

Margaret Broadway

Margaret Broadway, 91, of Walnut Ridge, died April 9, 2012, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 1, 1920, in Alicia, she was the daughter of John and Florence Covington Holloway. She was a homemaker and a member of the Hoxie Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Buel Broadway; a brother, Otis Holloway; and three sisters, Mildred Rogers, Ethel Chronister and Edith Rountree.

Survivors include three daughters, Wanda Ledesma and Doris Broadway, both of Walnut Ridge, and Bonnie Broadway, Ontario, Calif.; a sister, Annabelle Sauls, Walnut Ridge; a brother, Morris Holloway, Jonesboro; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Saturday at noon at House-Gregg Funeral Home with A.J. Stracener officiating. Burial will be in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Visitation will be Saturday, one hour prior to the service.

Pallbearers will be Micheal Johnson, Bruce Campbell, Todd Campbell, Benny Johnson, Mike Wright and Royce Lusk. Honorary pallbearers will be L.J. Hogue, Michael Divel and John T. Chronister.

Pauline Clements

Pauline Craig Clements, 97, of Smithville, died April 10, 2012, at Brighton Ridge Health Care Center in Eureka Springs.

Born Nov. 18, 1914, in Smithville, she was the daughter of John G. and Addie Davis Penn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie Clements, whom she married May 13, 1947.

Graveside service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Smithville Cemetery. Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge has charge of arrangements.

Visitation is Saturday from noon until 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty Sue Hazelwood

Betty Sue Hazelwood, 74, of Imboden, died April 4, 2012, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

Born July 1, 1937, in Hayti, Mo., she was a homemaker and a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Ona Sides Joiner; and a sister, Phyllis Wrenfro.

Survivors include her husband, Clarence Hazelwood, whom she married Dec. 19, 1981; a son, Ricky White Sr., Walnut Ridge; a grandson, Ricky White Jr.; and a great-grandson.

Funeral was Friday at noon at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Annieville with Bros. Jerry Clements and Scott Small officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of Bryan Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were the deacons of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers were Ricky White Sr., Ricky White Jr. and Gary Alderson.

John C. Reese

John C. Reese, 64, of Walnut Ridge, died April 9, 2012, at NEA Baptist Medical Center.

Born Nov. 3, 1947, in Ravenden Springs, he worked for Riceland for many years before his retirement.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Hazel Wilkerson Reese.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Truitt, Powhatan; a son, John Edward Reese, Little Rock; a brother, Sidney Reese, Jonesboro; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held today at 11 a.m. at Faith Worship Center in Portia. Cox Funeral Home of Walnut Ridge has charge of arrangements.

Larry James Richey Sr.

Larry James Richey Sr., 45, of Trumann, formerly of Walnut Ridge, died April 10, 2012, at his home.

Born June 4, 1966, in Walnut Ridge, he was a carpenter.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Richey.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Richey Jr., Hoxie, and Joshua Gallion, Greenbrier; a daughter, Ciara Adams, Conway; his mother, Betty Thomas Richey Martin, Fayetteville; three sisters, Annetta Turell, Fayetteville, and Laura Bristow and Vicki Lynn Burrow, both of Lynn; a brother, Billy Dixon, Lynn; his stepmother, Vicky Richey, Lynn; his fiancˇ, Debbie Cotton; and four grandchildren, Katlyn Richey, Kristen Richey, Destiny Adams and Jaxon Adams.

Arrangements will be announced by Bryan Funeral Home.

Henry G. Smith

Henry G. "H.G." Smith, 84, of Anderson, Ind., died April 8, 2012, at St. John's Hospital in Anderson.

Born Feb. 2, 1928, in Black Rock, he was the son of Lark W. and Lillian Wells Smith. He worked at Philadelphia Quarts for 20 years, Nicholson File for 11 years and Marsh Supermarket for 12 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of Main Street Church of God.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Betty Felton Smith; two brothers, Otho Smith and Owen Smith; and a stepson, Terry Vaught.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Vaught Smith, whom he married Dec. 19, 2003; two daughters, Jackie Ludlow and husband Bill, Lawrence, Ind., and Diana Bruner and husband Sam, Indianapolis; a son, Terry Smith and wife Durrenda, Pendleton, Ind.; two stepsons, Mike Vaught and wife Nora, and Phillip Vaught, all of Anderson, Ind.; a stepdaughter-in-law, Glenda Vaught; a brother, Clyde Smith and wife Ruth Ann, Anderson; a sister, Vetrix Winchester and husband Robert, Anderson; seven grandchildren, Sherri Moran, Beckie Ellman, Billy Ludlow, Jon Ludlow, Jessica Smith, Nick Smith and Jason Bruner; six stepgrandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Funeral is Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at Main Street Church of God with Rev. Don Billie and pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service of Anderson.

Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, Main Street Church of God or Crossroads United Methodist Church.

Hadley Neil Sullivan

Hadley Neil Sullivan, 70, of Batesville, formerly of Walnut Ridge, died April 8, 2012, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

He had worked for City Water Works in Walnut Ridge for many years and was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Lois Penn Sullivan; and a grandchild.

Survivors include a son, Russell Sullivan, Bentonville; a daughter, Melody Mangrum, Louisiana; a sister, Aleta Haigwood and husband Shirley, Newport; a brother, Conley Sullivan, Greenville, Miss.; five grandchildren; and two special friends, Leann Wallace and Renee Berry, both of Batesville.

Funeral is Thursday at 2 p.m. at House-Gregg Funeral Home in Lynn with Bro. Jason Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Dry Creek Cemetery, near Lynn.

Visitation is one hour prior to the service.

Lorene Vuncannon

Lorene Blackwell Vuncannon, 75, of Trumann, died April 7, 2012, at her home.

Born July 21, 1936, in Walnut Ridge, she had lived in Trumann the past 53 years and had previously lived in Dyess. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edwin Vuncannon; and her parents, Raymond and Marie Chestine Blackwell.

Survivors include a daughter, Reba Vuncannon, of the home; a son, Ricky Vuncannon, of the home; two sisters, Irene Pilgrim, Marion, and Earlene Suthern, Dyess; two brothers, John Blackwell, Adamsville, Tenn., and Murrell Blackwell, Trumann; and a grandson, Kevin Rieathbaum, of the home.

Funeral was Monday at 7 p.m. at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann with Rev. Don Vuncannon officiating. A private graveside service was held Tuesday at Pine Hill Cemetery in Jonesboro.

Pallbearers were Charles Creecy, Danny McClelland, Roy Warden, Michael Spray, Bill Wilson and Lynn Morrison.

Memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church in Jonesboro.

Khloie Faith Wade, six months old passed away Friday at Arkansas Children's Hospital in Little Rock.

She was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents, Royce Riley Sr., Melvin Webster and Phyllis Burks; paternal great-grandparents, Delmar and Brenda Wade and Henry Ehrhardt.

She is survived by parents Kyle and HollyAnn Wade of Walnut Ridge; maternal grandparents, Penny Riley of Black Rock, Royce Jr. and Malisa Riley of Black Rock; paternal grandparents, Steve and Donna Wade of Walnut Ridge; maternal great-grandparents, Carolyn Webster of Black Rock, Glenda Riley of Jonesboro and Charles Burks of Walnut Ridge; paternal great-grandparents, Patsy Ehrhardt Edwards of Hoxie; aunts, Sarah Freeman, Kimberly Riley, Jeniffer Riley, Nakesha Riley and Hollie Wade; and her uncles, Jonathan Riley, Clyde Freeman and Tyler Freeman.

Funeral was Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the House Gregg Funeral Home Chapel with Tommie Boles officiating. Burial was in Powhatan Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Cory Fountain, Jason Mondy, Heath Wade and Blake Wade. Honorary pallbearers were Ronnie Robins, Barry Woodard, Tyler Freeman, Jonathan Riley, Tedd Duckworth, Denny Woodard, Buddy Woodard and Randy Wade.
