High school baseball and softball results from the past week include:
WR - BR softball The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats defeated Black Rock 17-2 at Stewart Park. For Walnut Ridge, Sabrina Knight had three hits, including a triple and a double, and scored four runs. Hannah Massey had three hits and scored a run. Ashlyn Cothern and Brittany Dobbs each had two hits and scored twice, and Felicia Price had a hit and scored two runs. Raven Dobbs also had a hit.
The Rivercrest Lady Colts defeated Hoxie 16-0 in 3A-3 softball action at Wilson.
A seven-run fourth inning keyed Tuckerman's 9-1 victory over the Hoxie Mustangs. Spencer Shannon, Cade Niswonger and Cory Williams each had two RBIs for the Bulldogs.
Hoxie - Rivercrest baseball The Rivercrest baseball team swept a doubleheader from Hoxie at Wilson. Rivercrest edged the Mustangs 4-3 in the first game, as Brandon McLaughlin held the Mustangs to one hit. The Colts took the nightcap 13-2 in five innings.
WR - Rector softball Rector's Lady Cougars shut out Walnut Ridge 14-0 in 2A-3 softball action at Stewart Park. Cothern had two hits for the Lady Bobcats.
Izard County Consolidated outlasted the Black Rock Zebras 11-8 at Black Rock. Trailing 4-1, Black Rock pushed across six runs in the bottom of the third inning to take a 7-4 lead. ICC tied the contest with three runs in the fifth, and added two runs in each of the sixth and seventh innings to move into an 11-7 lead. The Zebras added a run in the bottom of the seventh to set the final score. For Black Rock, Drew Howard went 2-for-3 and scored two runs. Sam Clem had a hit and two RBIs. Constantin Krause scored two runs. Korliss Moore, Johnathan Sykes, Tyler Freeman and Malachi Gott each scored one run.
