Baseball Bobcats blank EPC

The Walnut Ridge Bobcats improved to 5-1 in the 2A-3 Conference baseball standings with a 10-0 victory over East Poinsett County at Stewart Park.
The Bobcats made short work of the Warriors, scoring seven runs in the second inning. Hunter Flippo had the big hit in the inning with a bases-loaded double which drove in three runs.
Flippo belted a two-run homer in the fourth inning and finished with five RBIs for the game. Eric Wilcoxson went 2-for-2, and had two RBIs.
Zach Carson started on the mound for Walnut Ridge and surrendered just one hit while ringing up eight strikeouts in the five-inning contest.
The Tuckerman Bulldogs swept a doubleheader from the Hillcrest Screamin' Eagles at Tuckerman.
The Bulldogs took the opener 12-0, as Will Hubbard tossed a two-hitter.
Tuckerman won the nightcap 16-8. Cade Niswonger earned the win on the mound, and also drove in three runs.

Walnut Ridge needed just five innings to rout Buffalo Island Central 12-2 in conference baseball action at Stewart Park.
Walnut Ridge jumped on top with six runs in the second inning.
At the plate, Wilcoxson batted 3-for-3 and scored four runs. Zach Crisler went 2-for-4 and had two RBIs.
Crisler started on the mound and earned the complete-game victory. He allowed two runs on just one hit, while striking out five.
The Bobcats improved to 4-1 in conference play and 9-5 overall.
