Diamond roundupRiverside's Taylor Archer pitched a three-innng no-hitter as the Lady Rebels defeated Black Rock 20-1 in high school softball action on Friday at Lake City.
The Riverside baseball team shut out Black Rock 15-0 on March 7 at Black Rock. Sam Clem had the Zebra's only hit.
Izard County Consolidated defeated Sloan-Hendrix 16-0 in baseball action at Brockwell. Preston Harmon pitched a four-inning no-hitter for the Cougars. Ridgefield Christian swept a baseball doubleheader from Black Rock on March 6 at Black Rock. Ridgefield won the opener 14-5, and took the nightcap 13-3. Rivercrest defeated Hoxie 24-0 in high school softball action at Hoxie. Marmaduke defeated Walnut Ridge 17-2 in softball action at Marmaduke. For Walnut Ridge, Allison Bridges had two hits. Brittney Dobbs had a hit and an RBI, and Hannah Massey had a hit. Ashlyn Cothern and Allyson McQuay each scored a run. Massey was the starting pitcher for Walnut Ridge and registered three strikeouts.
The Corning Bobcats shut out Hoxie 13-0 in 3A-3 baseball action at Hoxie. Hayden Defries and Never Parker each had hits for Hoxie. The Rector Lady Cougars defeated Walnut Ridge 12-2 in softball action at Rector. Sabrina Knight batted 2-for-3 and scored a run, and Bridges scored a run. Cothern, Dobbs, and Holsapple had one hit apiece. Hannah Massey registered two strikeouts for Walnut Ridge.
