Blake says his campaign will focus on job creation, economic development and agriculture.

"I am honored to be running for an opportunity to serve and represent the citizens of Senate District 20," said Johnson. "As a state senator, I will work hard to grow our economy, encourage job creation and make our community a great place to live, raise a family and build a business."

Johnson is a graduate of Corning High School and graduated cum laude from Arkansas State University with a bachelor's degree. He has farmed on family land raising rice and soybeans for 18 years. He is a member of the Arkansas Economic Developers and the Corning Area Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the Corning City Council.

"My goal is to be a representative of the people and provide my district with a conservative voice in the state Senate who will fight for hardworking Arkansas taxpayers," Johnson said.

Johnson will face Sen. Robert Thompson in the general election.
