Hillcrest boys qualify for state
Hillcrest led 22-14 after one quarter, and extended their advantage to 41-27 in the second period. ICC made a comeback attempt in the fourth quarter, outscoring Hillcrest 29-19 in the period. The Cougars' rally fell one point short, as the Eagles held on for the victory.
Zach Doyle pumped in 30 points to lead Hillcrest. Colman Evans finished with 20 points and 10 rebounds, while Jeremiah Turner had 10 points and seven rebounds. Evan Doyle had eight points, and Hunter Nunnally added six. Ethan Holder chipped in five points, and Tyler Parker added a free throw.

Hicks, Abbott play
Audrey Jane Hicks and Ashlyn Abbott, both of Walnut Ridge, completed their senior basketball season for Crowley's Ridge Academy in Paragould in the first round of the 1A Region 2 Basketball Tournament.
