Hoxie defeats Bald Knob

The Hoxie Mustangs defeated Bald Knob 62-25 in senior boys basketball on Feb. 7 at Hoxie.

The Mustangs broke the game open in the second quarter, holding the Bulldogs to four points in the period and taking a 25-point advantage at halftime.

Colton Watson scored 19 points, and Jacob Defries added 15 for Hoxie.

Senior girls

The Lady Mustangs fell to Bald Knob 62-50 in senior girls action.

Bald Knob led 13-7 at the end of the first quarter and 28-20 at halftime. The Lady Bulldogs then outscored Hoxie 20-11 in the third quarter to open a commanding 48-31 lead.

Autumn Nelson led Hoxie with 18 points, including two three-pointers.
