Stowers seeking re-election
County Clerk Tina Stowers has formally announced that she will seek re-election to that position. She is serving in her fourth term. "I would like to take this opportunity to ask the voters of Lawrence County for their support for my re-election as county clerk," Stowers said. "I have enjoyed working for and serving the people of Lawrence County and look forward to doing so for many more years." Stowers praised her deputy clerks, Billie Brewer, who does payroll, Tammy Jones, who is in charge of accounts payable, and Sarah Dobbs, who keeps the voter registration up to date. "They make the office run smoothly on a daily basis," she said. "Without these three special ladies, my job would be much more difficult." Stowers and her husband, Harold, live in Hoxie. They have two children. Their son, Blair, and his wife, Jamie, live in College City and have a son, Henry. Their daughter, Haley, is married to Dwayne Haney, and they live in Alabama and have a son, Spencer.
