Accident claims one lifeStrawberry, Smithville and Lynn emergency responders were paged to a one-car accident at Reeds Creek Bridge on Highway 117 just north of Strawberry on Sunday. Bonnie Smith, 82, of Strawberry was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was reported to be on her way to church when the accident took place. Smith had to be extricated from her vehicle and was transported to The Med in Memphis via helicopter. She underwent emergency treatment at the hospital but died of her injuries later that day. The cause of the accident is unknown. Arkansas State Police investigated the accident but had not released a report by press time.
