AHTD sets meeting in PortiaThe Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) will hold a public involvement meeting on Thursday from 4-7 p.m. at the Portia Community Center, located at 505 West Front Street. AHTD officials will discuss the proposed project to widen 1.5 miles off Highway 63 to five lanes, extending from Portia westward to Black Rock. A meeting to discuss replacing the bridge on Highway 63 over the Black River was held on Nov. 1. No additional information on that project will be available at the Portia meeting.
