County tourney begins Saturday

The 2012 Lawrence County Basketball Tournament will tip off Saturday morning at Sloan-Hendrix's Bill McCurley Gymnasium in Imboden.

Saturday's schedule consists of four seventh-grade games.

The Walnut Ridge and Sloan-Hendrix girls will tip off at 9 a.m., followed by the Walnut Ridge and Hillcrest boys at 10. The Hoxie and Hillcrest girls will play at 11 a.m., and Sloan-Hendrix and Hoxie boys will conclude the day's action, beginning at noon.

Saturday's winners will advance to next weekend's finals. The seventh-grade girls final will be Feb. 3 at 5 p.m., and the boys final will be Feb. 4 at 5 p.m.

Monday

The Sloan-Hendrix and Black Rock junior boys will play at 5 p.m., followed by the Sloan-Hendrix and Black Rock senior girls at 6:15. The Black Rock and Sloan-Hendrix senior boys will tip off at 7:30.

Tuesday

Five games are slated for Tuesday, beginning with the Black Rock and Hoxie junior girls at 3:30. The Walnut Ridge and Sloan-Hendrix junior girls will square off at 4:45. The Hillcrest junior boys will face the winner of Monday's Sloan-Hendrix - Black Rock game at 6 p.m.

Hillcrest's senior girls will play the Sloan-Hendrix - Black Rock winner at 7:15. The day's final game will feature Hillcrest's senior boys against either Black Rock or Sloan-Hendrix at 8:30.

Thursday

The first of four games will see the Hillcrest junior girls take on the winner of Tuesday's Black Rock - Hoxie game at 4 p.m. Thursday's remaining games will be clashes between cross-town rivals Walnut Ridge and Hoxie. A junior boys game will tip off at 5:15. The senior girls will play at 6:30, followed by the senior boys at 7:45.

Friday

Friday's action will begin with the seventh-grade girls final at 5 p.m. The junior boys championship game will tip off at 6:15, followed by the senior girls final at 7:30.

Saturday

The seventh-grade boys final begins at 5 p.m. The junior girls title game will start at 6:15. The senior boys final tips off at 7:30.
