The Walnut Ridge Bobcats evened their conference and overall records with a 68-50 victory over Buffalo Island Central Friday night at Monette.

The Bobcats got off to a fast start, racing out to a 39-20 lead at the end of the first half.

Matthew Cox led Walnut Ridge with 13 points.

The Bobcats record improved to 5-5 in 2A-3 Conference play and 8-8 overall.

The Marmaduke Greyhounds built an 18-point lead after three quarters and held on to defeat Walnut Ridge 72-63 in senior boys basketball action on Jan. 10 at Marmaduke.

Marmaduke led 19-18 after one quarter before extending their advantage to 40-26 at halftime and 58-40 entering the final period.

Cox led the Bobcats in scoring with 20 points. Range Weeks added 15 points, all in the fourth quarter.

Marmaduke defeated Walnut Ridge 66-47 in a senior girls game on Jan. 10.

Caroline Kelley led Walnut Ridge with 10 points.

The Marmaduke junior high girls defeated Walnut Ridge 46-16.
