WRHS celebrating
homecoming week

Walnut Ridge High School will host its homecoming festivities this week, with sweetheart royalty presented on Thursday night between the junior and senior girls games and the homecoming royalty presented on Friday night between the junior and senior boys games.

The theme is Wild Wild West, and both boys and girls will be facing Rector.

Members of the sweetheart royalty include: Kyle Johnson, king, son of Steve Johnson of Walnut Ridge and Delta Crafton of Piggott; Alex Long, senior knight, son of John and Linda Long of Walnut Ridge; Jake Smith, knight of honor, son of Natalie Smith of Walnut Ridge and Jamie Smith of Nashville, Tenn.

Also: Hunter Flippo, junior knight, son of Charles and Dana Flippo of Walnut Ridge; Edward Harthorn, sophomore knight, son of Steve and Cathy Harthorn of Walnut Ridge; and freshman knight, Tyler Fry, son of Tim and Sheila Snow of Walnut Ridge.

Pages are Taylor Forrester, daughter of Paul and Rhonda Forrester of Walnut Ridge; and Dawson Ward, son of Jason and Natosha Ward of Walnut Ridge.

Members of the homecoming royalty include: Makenzie Britton, queen, daughter of Keith and Ginger Britton of Walnut Ridge; Jacquelynn Reeves, maid of honor, daughter of Jimmy and Julie Baker of Walnut Ridge; Allyson Smith, senior maid, daughter of Allen and Kim Smith of Walnut Ridge.

Also: Holley Yates, junior maid, daughter of Jeff and Kellie Yates of Walnut Ridge; Brooke Midgett, sophomore maid, daughter of Jeff Midgett and Cathy Gonzalez, both of Walnut Ridge; Stephann Petty, freshman maid, daughter of Charles and Valerie Petty of Sedgwick.

Pages are Cash Baker, son of Billy and Lindy Baker of Walnut Ridge, and Mallie Jean, daughter of Adam and Jennifer Jean of Walnut Ridge.

Special events

A homecoming practice will be held Thursday at 12:45 p.m. in the gymnasium.

Special activities on Friday will include homeroom games at 10:15 a.m., with students in seventh through ninth grade competing in the Walnut Ridge Community Center, and students in 10th through 12th grade competing in the gym.

A pep rally will be held at 2 p.m. in the gymnasium.

Student Council has T-shirts for sale. They may be purchased from Stacy Rice for $12 (2XL and 3XL are $14).
