BR, S-H girls advance in NEA

Senior high basketball teams from four Lawrence County schools competed in the Northeast Arkansas Invitational Tournament last week at ASU Convocation Center.

The Black Rock and Sloan-Hendrix senior girls each earned first-round victories to advance to the second round.

BR - Hillcrest girls

The Black Rock Lady Zebras picked up their first win of the basketball season in surprising fashion, defeating the Hillcrest Lady Screamin' Eagles 63-51 in a first-round matchup on Friday.

It was the third game of the season between the two teams, with the Lady Eagles winning the first two meetings handily.

WR beats Cross
County 61-47

Zach Crisler poured in 36 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Walnut Ridge Bobcats to a 61-47 victory over Cross County in senior boys basketball action on Dec. 19.

Hoxie splits with Earle

The Earle Bulldogs visited Hoxie and came away with a 72-40 victory in senior boys basketball action on Dec. 19.
