Lady Eagles beat ICC
Nathan Hibbard Hillcrest hosted Izard County Consolidated on Nov. 22 at Lynn.
Lindsey Crews led four Lady Eagles in double figures with 19 points, as the Lady Screamin' Eagles downed ICC 58-45. Kellie Beasley scored 12 points, while Mackenzie Nunnally and Shea Durham each had 10 points for the Lady Eagles. Beasley also pulled down 13 rebounds. The Hillcrest girls improved to 2-3 in the 1A-2 North conference race and 7-5 overall. The Hillcrest junior girls fell to ICC 28-25.
The ICC senior boys outscored Hillcrest 37-20 in the second and third quarters en route to defeating the Screamin' Eagles 64-48. The contest was tied 13-13 after one quarter, but ICC moved out to a 28-19 lead at halftime, and led 50-33 after three periods. Colman Evans led Hillcrest with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Tyler Parker added 11 points, and Zach Doyle scored 10. Hunter Nunnally added six points, and Corey Richey had four points and four rebounds.
Evans led a trio of Hillcrest players in double figures with 21 points as the Screamin' Eagles defeated Ridgefield Christian 60-51 on Nov. 21 at Jonesboro. The Eagles trailed 23-21 at halftime, but took control of the game in the second half and surged to a 44-37 lead entering the final period. Nunnally scored 16 points, and Doyle added 14 for Hillcrest.
