County to maintain grant writer

Last Monday the Quorum Court decided to retain the position of county grant writer, presently filled by Emily Hathcock, as part of the decisions regarding the 2012 county budget.

Crawford visits Sedgwick Post Office

Congressman Rick Crawford met with local residents at the Sedgwick Post Office on Nov. 9 to introduce the Protecting Our Rural Post Offices Act of 2011.

WR airport makes
adjustments in plan

Old and crumbling lighting system circuits have caused the Walnut Ridge Airport Commission to alter its five-year capital improvement plan so work on the systems can begin as soon as money is available.

WR Council approves raises

Raises for city employees, sewer projects and repairs to Midway Road were discussed at the Walnut Ridge City Council meeting on Nov. 8.

Santa letter deadline scheduled

The Times Dispatch will print letters from children to Santa in the Dec. 21 edition.
