S-H girls earn close win

Shayla Dickson scored 14 points to lead the Sloan-Hendrix Lady Greyhounds past Maynard 50-49 in a closely contested senior girls basketball game Nov. 1 at Maynard.
Maynard led 16-12 at the end of the first quarter and 27-24 at halftime. The Lady Hounds used a strong second half to move into a 37-36 lead after three quarters and held off the Lady Tiger in the final period for the win.
The Sloan-Hendrix junior high girls were also victorious, defeating Maynard 40-35.
Senior boys
Daniel Rowsey's 25 points weren't enough, as the Sloan-Hendrix senior boys were edged by Maynard 76-74. Austin Clark added 12 points for the Greyhounds.
