Lady Mustangs fall to CRA,
beat Harrisburg, Pocahontas

The Hoxie Lady Mustang volleyball teams had a busy week, competing in three matches.

CRA

Crowley's Ridge Academy swept Hoxie in a senior high match 25-16, 25-13, 25-12.

For Hoxie, Sarah Manis had five assists. Courtney Sears had two kills and a dig. Maddison Woodard and Grace Hall each had a kill.

CRA won the junior high match 25-23, 25-13.

Emily Hatfield had a dig and a block, while Chasity Kingsland had two kills. Brooke Willfond had a dig, and Sequoia Irvin had a kill.

Harrisburg

The senior Lady Mustangs defeated Harrisburg in three games 25-12, 25-13, 25-22.

Manis had 25 assists and a dig. Sears was 28-of-31 serving, with five aces, and had three digs, a block and eight kills. Krista Coffell had a dig, a block and a kill. Cayley Rosson had three kills and a dig. Woodard had 12 kills, a dig and a block. Maria Fry served four aces and had two kills. Alexia Crow had six digs, and Autumn Nelson had one dig.

The Hoxie junior high team won a three-game match 25-20, 21-25, 25-19.

Krista VanKirk was eight-of-nine serving, with two aces, and had 12 assists and three kills. Zoe Willfond served seven-of-seven and had 11 assists. Kingsland was 10-of-10 from the service line, with an ace, and had five digs and two kills.

Hatfield went 10-of-11 from the line, with three aces. Brooke Willfond had four digs and four kills. Irvin had five kills, three digs and an assist, and Katelyn Jamison had three kills.

Pocahontas

The Hoxie senior high team won an exciting five game match against the Pocahontas Lady Redskins on Oct. 10 at Hicks Gymnasium.

Hoxie won the first game 25-21, only to see the Lady Redskins take the next two 25-18 and 27-25. The Lady Mustangs dominated the fourth game in a 25-6 victory, and took the fifth game 15-12.

Manis was 19-of-20 serving, with seven aces, and had 27 assists, five digs and two kills. Sears was 13-of-14 serving, with two aces, nine digs, eight kills and two blocks. Coffell was 12-of-12 serving, and had nine digs, two blocks and six kills.

Woodard went eight-of-nine from behind the line, and had eight kills, two digs and a block. Hall had nine kills and two blocks, while Rosson hammered two kills. Fry was 11-of-11 serving, with four aces, and had three digs. Crow was nine-of-10 serving, with three digs. Nelson had 12 digs, and Hali Pratt added three digs.

Hoxie swept the junior high match 25-11, 25-13.

VanKirk was 17-of-18 serving, with seven aces, and had five assists, two digs and two kills. Kingsland served six-of-six, with two digs and two kills. Hatfield had two digs and six kills, while Zoe Willfond had five assists. Brooke Willfond had a dig and a kill. Irvin had three digs and three kills, and Jameson contributed a dig and a kill.
