Tim and Samantha Burgess of Walnut Ridge have announced the birth of twin daughters on Sept. 20, 2011, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

Madeline Marydale weighed four pounds, four ounces, and Phoebe René weighed five pounds, one ounce.

They have an older sister, Sarah.

Grandparents are Michael and Joanna Hulme and Donald and Diana Burgess. They are the great-granddaughters of Brenda Lamb, Jim Mooney and Patsy Brown.

Stetson Landyn Holder

Shane and Ashley Holder of Strawberry have announced the birth of a son on Aug. 29, 2011, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed eight pounds, one ounce, and has been named Stetson Landyn Holder.

He has a brother, Tyler, who is 13, and a sister, Cassidy, who is eight.

Grandparents are Ronald and Sue Whitmire of Strawberry, Dee and Caroline Holder of Saffell and the late Lela Holder.

He is the great-grandson of Brownie Brewer of Sidney.

Adam and Brittney Huskey of Paragould have announced the birth of a son on Sept. 12, 2011, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed seven pounds, 10 ounces, and has been named Elias Grant Huskey.

Grandparents are Ronnie and Kerrie Hancock of Hoxie, Roger and Danielle Huskey of Calamine and Tony and Deana Conley of Pocahontas.

He is the great-grandson of Joe and Mary Hancock, Robert Needham and Milena Smith, all of Hoxie, Bobby Dean and Florence Huskey of Lynn and Bob and Barbara Wilson of Calamine.

Hayden Benjamin Kisling

Benjamin and Tami Kisling of Jonesboro have announced the birth of a son on Aug. 18, 2011, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed six pounds, 11 ounces, and has been named Hayden Benjamin Kisling.

Grandparents are Randall and Lisa Kisling of Kennett, Mo., and Bob and Joan Roberts of Royal.

He is the great-grandson of Harry "Bud" and Thelma Kisling of Jonesboro, formerly of Lawrence County.

Josh and Jennifer Longmire of Jonesboro have announced the birth of a son on Sept. 26, 2011, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces, and has been named Jackson Reagan Longmire.

Grandparents are Dennis and Kris Lore of Harrisburg, Rick and Lea Cohn of Monette and the late Bob Longmire, who lived in Hoxie.

He is the great-grandson of Bernice Papon of Kansas and Mearl and Betty Taffar of Ravenden.

Christopher and Samantha McGee of Chatham, Ill., have announced the birth of their first son on Sept. 20, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield, Ill.

The baby weighed seven pounds, 13 ounces, and has been named Owen Michael McGee.

Grandparents are Stephen and Edna Dickey White of Chatham, Ill., Michael McGee Sr. of Buffalo, Ill., and Kim McGee of Springfield, Ill.

He is the great-grandson of Zada Dickey of Walnut Ridge and the late Sam Dickey, Melvin White, formerly of Jonesboro, and the late Gertrude White, Thomas and Barbara McGee of Springfield, Ill., Alan Brewer of Springfield, Ill., and the late Doralee Brewer.

Cawyer Banks-Mullen

Mark Mullen and Annah Banks-Mullen of West Plains, Mo., have announced the birth of a son on Sept. 10, 2011, at St. Bernards Birthcare Center in Jonesboro.

The baby weighed 10 pounds, one ounce, and has been named Cawyer Banks-Mullen.

He has one older sibling, Merris, who is two.

Grandparents are Allen and Helen Banks of Corning and Nella Mullen of Walnut Ridge and the late Paul Mullen.

Thelma Berry

Thelma Betty King Berry, 82, of O'Kean, died Sept. 27, 2011, at the Newport Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Born Jan. 27, 1929, in Sharp County, she was the daughter of the late Moses Price and Bertha Wilson King. She worked at Brown Shoe Company for 39 years.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sam L. Berry, whom she married July 18, 1948, in Sharp County; five brothers, Marvin King, John King, Cecil King, Jessie King and Claudie King; and a sister, Katherine King.

Survivors include four children, Gary Berry and Betty Ferrell, both of O'Kean; Velma Shortt, Jackson, Mo., and Tracy Watson; two brothers, Willie King, Sugar Grove, Ill., and Luther King, Pocahontas; three sisters, Pearly Hirsch, Ravenden, Irene Baird, Williford, and Maudie Leininger, Schenectady, N.Y.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, with one on the way; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral was Saturday at 11 a.m. at Higginbotham Funeral Service. Burial was in Randolph Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were Chris Ferrell, Jessie Ferrell, Ron Hirsch, Ronnie Berry, Bryant Watson and Travis Berry. Honorary pallbearers were Loria Ferrell, Holly Shortt, Amanda Pfieffer, Loey Goad and Cy Watson.

Flois Mae Collins

Flois Mae Cooprider Collins, 85, of Walnut Ridge, died Sept. 30, 2011, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.

She was a homemaker and a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two husbands, Robert Luce and Bob Collins; and four sisters.

Survivors include three daughters, Sharon Webb, Hoxie, Linda Walker and husband John and Norma Wilburn and husband Doug, all of Walnut Ridge; a son, Bobby Collins and wife Melissa, Walnut Ridge; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at Gethsemane Baptist Church in Walnut Ridge with Rev. Derek Collins officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Higginbotham Funeral Service.

Pallbearers were Tony Waldrupe, Roger Duckworth, Farion Walker, Jeffery Sheets, James Cagle and Joel Schnick. Honorary pallbearers were Hershal Sawyer and Luther Allen.

Wanda Mae Dean

Wanda Mae Dean, 82, of O'Kean, died Oct. 1, 2011, at the Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center.

Born Feb. 22, 1929, she was the daughter of James Cledth and Margie Ford Carter.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Howard Dean; a son, Rickey Darrell Dean; three brothers and a sister.

Survivors include two daughters, Jeanie Harper and husband Charles, Walnut Ridge, and Mary Jane Maple and husband Leonard, O'Kean; a sister, Marvene Lance; six grandchildren, Deana Householder, Dana Maple, Jana Smith, Tammy Smith, Shirley Allen and Glen Maple; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Randolph Memorial Gardens in Pocahontas under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home

Florence C. Drake

Florence C. Drake, 98, of Walnut Ridge, died Oct. 2, 2011, at Lawrence Memorial Hospital.

She had lived in Lawrence County for the past 30 years after moving from Chicago. She was a homemaker and attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Walnut Ridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Drake; two sons, Harry Drake and Donald Drake; three sisters, Mary Bankhead, Illene Dorsett and Grace Russell; two brothers, Bob Roush and Bill Roush; and three grandchildren, Donald Drake, Michael Drake and Susie Drake.

Survivors include a daughter, Kay Klinke and husband Ron, Walnut Ridge; two sons, William Drake, Forrest City, and Delbert Drake, West Dundee, Ill.; a sister, Edith Bukovskey, Bear Creek, Minn.; a brother, Delbert Roush, Norman, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral Mass is today at 9 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Walnut Ridge. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Gardens under the direction of House-Gregg Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be T.J. Drake, Douglas Drake, Christopher Drake, Shawn Drake, Matthew Drake and Ronnie Tagge. Honorary pallbearers will be Shawn Ksiazek, Billy Drake, Katie Ksiazek, Candy Ksiazek and Cassandra Tagge.

Mable Louise Eno

Mable Louise Eno, 86, of Loveland, Colo., departed this life on Sept. 26, 2011, at the Sierra Vista Healthcare Center.

Born March 5, 1925, in Parkin, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Clay and Ada Northcut Freer. She retired from Hoffer Plastics in South Elgin, Ill., in 1986, where she had been employed for 25 years.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Philip Carl Eno, whom she married July 5, 1947, in Hernando, Miss.; a daughter, Nancy Ann Vanco; and two brothers, John "Bud" Freer (her twin) and J.C. Hardin.

Survivors include four sons, Jerry A. Campbell, Berthoud, Colo., John E. Campbell, Casper, Wyo., Philip L. Eno, Loveland, Colo., and Paul R. Eno, Elgin, Ill.; a daughter, Betty J. Mulholland, Crystal Lake, Ill.; a sister, Geraldine Shatz, Minot, N.D.; 15 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. at Higginbotham Funeral Service with Rev. Steve Cook officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park.

Pallbearers were Jerry Campbell, John Campbell, Philip Eno, Paul Eno, Brian Eno and Jason Eno.

Bobby Jean Gall

Bobby Jean Gall, age 75, of Lynn, was granted her angel wings on Oct. 1, 2011, at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

Her final days were spent surrounded by family and friends who Bobby had touched in some small way throughout her very memorable life.

She was born Oct. 29, 1935, in Richwoods to the late Charlie Cagle and Mable Wooldridge Cagle. She was a homemaker, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, a Navy wife of 20 plus years, and loved and supported her spouse of 55 years, Clarence "Pookie" Gall, who had preceded her in death. She was a member of Saffell Missionary Baptist Church.

Survivors include a son, Gene Gall of Jonesboro; a daughter, Melinda Gall Wells of Eaton; grandchildren Shelly Gall Hoffman of Florida, Patrick Gall of Virginia, Tonya Wells Rose of Strawberry, and Tina Wells Goff of Benton; siblings, Junior Cagle of Rockford, Ill., James Cagle of Batesville, Clara "Mickey" Fortenberry of Jonesboro, Patricia Nicholas of Hoxie and Bill Cagle of Vienna, Ill.; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral was Monday at 2 p.m. at Saffell Missionary Baptist Church with Larry Etheridge officiating. Burial was in Old Lebanon Cemetery under the direction of House Gregg Funeral Home of Lynn.

Pallbearers were Danny Gall, Robert Gall, Tommy Gall, Allen Harlacher, Charles Geurin and Larry Vance.

Freda Marie Jones

Freda Marie Jones, 72, of Pocahontas, died Oct. 2, 2011.

Born Oct. 16, 1938, in Imboden, she was the daughter of the late Burley and Mazie Perrin.

Survivors include her husband, Sherman Jones; three children, Roger Jones, Pocahontas, and Tam Caple and Pam Lee, both of Searcy; a sister, Melba Creach, Pocahontas; and six grandchildren, Lauren Ford, Sara Ford, Taylor Jones, Clint Jones, Chase Caple and Faith Caple.

Funeral is today at 2 p.m. at McNabb Funeral Home in Pocahontas with Gerald Fears officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery.

Rev. Terry Gene Mann

Rev. Terry Gene Mann, 51, of Stamps, died Sept. 29, 2011, following a lengthy illness.

Born Oct. 10, 1959, he served as minister of First United Methodist Church in Stamps. He graduated from Henderson State University with a bachelor's degree in psychology and received a Master of Divinity degree from the Memphis Theological Seminary. He had been a pastor for 21 years, serving communities in southern and eastern Arkansas.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Mann Jones.

Survivors include his wife, Vicki Mann; a son, William Mann, of the home; a daughter, Gracie Mann, Glendale, Ore.; his parents, Eugene and Marie Mann, Saffell; two brothers, Mark Mann and wife Joyce, Jonesboro, and David Mann and wife Kathy, Longview, Texas; and three stepchildren, Tera Morgan, Lynn, and Joshua Walker and Jacob Huskey, both of Jonesboro.

Funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home in Jonesboro with Bro. Fred Dover officiating. Burial was private.

Pallbearers were Jamie McCoy, Keith Jones, Terry Burns, Ronnie Gosha, David Gordan and Tom Baker. Honorary pallbearers were Rev. Dr. C.E. McAdoo, Wendall Jones, Jesse Barber, David Fowler, Gerald Wright and David Bright.

Billy W. Phillips

Billy W. Phillips, 60, of Higden, died Oct. 1, 2011, at his son's home in Wynne.

He had lived in Lawrence County most of his life before moving to Higden 10 years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was of the Baptist belief.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Phillips.

Survivors include three sons, Billy Shayne Phillips, Wynne, Matthew Phillips, Paragould, and Ruston Phillips, Maumelle; his mother and stepfather, Geneva and Jim Lunsford, Beebe; two sisters, Brenda Lonergan, Beebe, and Beverly Moody, Walnut Ridge; and six grandchildren, Walker Phillips, Carlie Phillips, Cole Phillips, Sydnie Phillips, Cason Phillips and Addison Elizabeth Phillips.

Graveside service was Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Clover Bend Cemetery with Harold Russell officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Danny Matthews, Tommy Matthews, Cary Matthews, Todd Matthews, Danny Andrews and Kelly Waddell. Grandchildren were honorary pallbearers.

Loretta Seanard

Loretta Jones Seanard, 63, of Ash Flat, died Sept. 26, 2011, in Batesville.

Born Aug. 3, 1948, at Swifton, she was a waitress and was of the Pentecostal faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Helen Hatfield Jones.

Survivors include a daughter, Lisa Stender and husband Daryll, Ash Flat; a brother, Roy Jones and wife Kay, Ash Flat; a half-brother, Jerry Jones, Tuckerman; a half-sister, Shirley Wilson, Swifton; three grandchildren, Joey Stender, Jessica LaCount and Tiffani Breckenridge; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral was Friday at 2 p.m. at Jackson's Newport Funeral Home. Burial was in Arnold Cemetery.

Pallbearers were William LaCount Jr., Christopher Starkey, Quint Lavespere, Tommy Bishop, Jeff Jones and Andy Jones. Honorary pallbearers were Ed Breckenridge, Christopher Lavespere and Blake Lavespere.

Wilborn William Thomas

Wilborn William "Bill" Thomas, 95, of Powhatan, died Sept. 28, 2011, at Walnut Ridge Nursing and Rehab.

He was a U.S. Army veteran and a retired automobile mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gwendolyn "Gwen" Thomas; his second wife, Laura Thomas; his parents, Herman and Lucy Thomas; three sisters, Alice Rabe, Buelah Thomas and Virginia Bollinger; and a brother, Marlin Thomas.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Thomas, Walnut Ridge; a son, Bill Thomas and wife Leta, Helotes, Texas; a brother, Lum Thomas, Lafe; four stepchildren, Charles Rush, Lynn, Lynnette Smith, Williford, Curtis Rush, Rockford, Ill., and Lucinda Smith, Black Rock; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Graveside service was Saturday at 2 p.m. at Gainesville Cemetery. Heath Funeral Home of Paragould had charge of arrangements.
