First District Congressman Rick Crawford was the special guest this past week at the regular monthly meeting of the Northeast Arkansas Regional Intermodal Facilities Authority (NEARIFA).

At the meeting, which was held on Thursday morning on the campus of Black River Technical College in Pocahontas, Crawford said he had been watching the progress of the NEARIFA, and was pleased to see the cooperation of the different city and county entities working together.

Hoxie's Dec. 10 bills
to reflect new rates

A water and sewer increase has been a long time coming, but that doesn't stop it from being hard on some residents, according to Hoxie Mayor Lanny Tinker.

Fall cleanups set

Lawrence County is completing its fall cleanup this week, and cleanups are set to begin next week in Walnut Ridge and Hoxie as part of a twin-cities cleanup program.
