WR, Hoxie split matches

The Walnut Ridge Lady Bobcats defeated Hoxie in senior high volleyball action on Sept. 20 at Walnut Ridge. The Lady Cats swept the match 25-6, 25-23, 25-22.

For Walnut Ridge, Ashlyn Cothern went 29-of-30 from the service line, with 12 aces and 12 assists. Katie Lewis had nine kills and five blocks. Sabrina Knight and Ashley Roacho each had five digs.

For Hoxie, Courtney Sears had two digs, a block and a kill. Sarah Manis had four assists, and Krista Coffell had a dig. Cayley Rosson had two kills.

Hoxie won a senior B game 25-23.

Junior high

The Hoxie junior Lady Mustangs defeated Walnut Ridge 25-15, 25-15.

For Hoxie, Krista Vankirk had five assists and a kill. Emily Hatfield was 18-of-19 serving. Sequoia Irvin was nine-of-nine serving and had four kills and a dig. Brooke Willfond had three digs, and Chasity Kingsland had two kills. Zoe Willfond had an assist, and Katelyn Jamison had a dig.

Hoxie also won a junior B game 25-18.

Seventh grade

The teams split a seventh-grade match. Hoxie won the first game 21-12, while Walnut Ridge took the second game 20-16.
