Hoxie drops game to Highland

Sterling Stowers ran for three touchdowns and passed for another to lead the Highland Rebels over the Hoxie Mustangs 39-21 in senior football action Friday night at Crider Field.

The Rebels scored the game's first points on Stowers' 38-yard pass to Ethan Hoppe with 9:33 to play in the first quarter. Stowers added a four-yard touchdown run with 6:49 to play to boost Highland's lead to 12-0.

Highland struck again in the opening period when Michael Copeland connected with Garrett Sublett for a 45-yard score to push their lead to 19-0.

Cats fall to EPC, quarterback hurt

East Poinsett County defeated Walnut Ridge 46-26 in 2A-3 conference football action Friday night at Sexton Field.

Lady Cats fall to Piggott, CRA

Piggott's Lady Mohawks swept Walnut Ridge in senior volleyball action on Thursday at Piggott. Game scores were 25-17, 25-20, 25-24.

Hoxie girls earn sweeps in volleyball

The Hoxie Lady Mustangs volleyball team enjoyed a successful week, sweeping three matches, including two in 3A-Northeast conference action.
