Lady Mustangs sweep Newport,
fall to CRA, Ridgefield Christian

Hoxie's volleyball teams were in action three days last week.

CRA

Crowley's Ridge Academy swept Hoxie in senior high volleyball action on Thursday at Hoxie. Scores of the games were 25-16, 25-9, 25-21.

For Hoxie, Sarah Manis went nine-of-nine serving and had 13 assists. Courtney Sears had four kills and a block. Krista Coffell and Cayley Rosson each had four kills.

CRA also won the junior high match 25-23, 25-18.

Krista Vankirk was six-of-six serving and had seven assists and a kill. Emily Hatfield had five kills.

Hoxie won a junior B match 19-12, 23-12.

Ridgefield Christian

The Lady Mustangs faced Ridgefield Christian on Aug. 30 at Jonesboro. The Lady Warriors defeated Hoxie in three games 25-12, 25-21, 25-19.

Manis was 10-of-10 serving and had eight assists. Coffell had three kills.

The Hoxie junior high team defeated Ridgefield 25-20, 25-11.

Sequoia Irvin was nine-of-11 serving and had a kill. Hatfield was eight-of-10 serving.

Ridgefield Christian swept a seventh-grade match 20-12, 22-8.

Newport

Hoxie began the week by sweeping Newport on Aug. 29 at Hicks Gymnasium. Scores of the games were 25-18, 25-20, 25-20.

Manis had 14 assists. Sears had seven kills, and Coffell added five kills.

Hoxie also swept the junior high match by scores of 25-18, 25-19.

Vankirk went 19-of-19 from the service line and added four assists and two kills. Hatfield added four kills.

Hoxie won a senior B match 25-21 and a junior B match 25-12.
