Hoxie forms FD committee

Staff Writer The Hoxie City Council met in special session Friday to address the need to restructure a finance committee for the Hoxie Volunteer Fire Department.

Fire Chief Mark VanBrook asked that a new finance committee be formed to provide better checks and balances within the existing system.

Sheila Mason, who serves as treasurer of the Fire Department, was named committee chairman, with Rob Needham overseeing the savings account and Cassie Sapp overseeing the checking account.

Two committee member signatures will now be required on all transactions. A monthly report is also to be sent to all council members.

The council approved the appointment of all committee members.
