HES announces new facultyHoxie Elementary School has added four teachers to its staff, three of whom are interventionists. Amy Deckard of Walnut Ridge is a second-grade math interventionist for this school year, her first as a teacher. A native of Lawrence County, she and her husband, Michael, have two children, Kailey, eight, and Jaden, three. Marsha Walker has begun her first year as a teacher. She will be an interventionist in the kindergarten. A Walnut Ridge native, Walker resides in Pocahontas with her husband, Ricky Walker, and her children, Austin Williams and Abby Kate Rogers. Beverly McGhehey is also a first-year kindergarten interventionist, specializing in math. She has a bachelor's degree from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, and resides in her native town of Black Rock. She has two children, Eric McGhehey and Kali McGhehey. Deanna Rash will be teaching fifth-grade literacy this year after previously teaching literacy at Hillcrest. She has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Williams Baptist College and a master's degree from Arkansas State University. Rash, a Walnut Ridge native, resides in Hoxie. She has one daughter, Baylee, who is 10.
