USPS lists possible closures

The United States Postal Service released a list on Tuesday of post offices it will look at to see if they should be closed.

The USPS will be looking at almost 3,700 offices, branches and stations nationwide, including almost 200 in the state of Arkansas.

Post offices on the list from Lawrence County and bordering communities are: Egypt, Minturn, O'Kean, Poughkeepsie, Powhatan, Ravenden Springs, Saffell and Sedgwick.

According to information released by the postal service, most of the offices under review are in rural areas and have a low volume of business.

Some offices could be moved to libraries, local stores or government offices.
