Chamber hires Bryant for new position

L.J. Bryant said when he was originally approached about the possibility of filling the new economic development position at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, the fit seemed right.

winners named

Winners in the finest boy and prettiest girl competitions at the Portia Picnic Baby Show were Dristin Smith, 10-month-old son of Jon and Shannon Smith of Minturn, and Katelynn Ditto, seven-month-old daughter of Bret and Stephanie Ditto of Walnut Ridge.

Gala to raise funds, awareness

The Children's Shelter of Walnut Ridge will host a Summer Gala on July 14 to raise money for the shelter and awareness of its ongoing monetary needs.

Grocery tax rate lowered

As of July 1, Arkansans will be seeing a lower tax rate on their grocery bill, according to State Rep. James Ratliff.

Roacho places
in top 11 at MAOT

Ashley Roacho of Walnut Ridge competed in the Miss Arkansas' Outstanding Teen pageant as the reigning Miss White River's Outstanding Teen in Hot Springs June 29-July 2.
