Ty and Chelsea Matheny of Imboden have announced the birth of a son on May 3, 2011, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hopsital in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed nine pounds and has been named William “Tate” Cooper Matheny.
He has a sister, Hayden, who is two.
Grandparents are Terry and Darlene Matheny of Ravenden, Rick Tate of Imboden and Lisa Bailey of Benton.
He is the great-grandson of Mac and Barbara Matheny of Ravenden, Bob and Lorazell Tate of Walnut Ridge and Peggy Stalnaker of Imboden.
Lee and Laura Prondzinski of Jonesboro have announced the birth of their daughter, Chloe Ann Prondzinski, and son, Caden Christopher Prondzinski, born May 25, 2011.
Chloe weighed five pounds, six ounces, and Caden weighed 6 pounds, 6 ounces. They have a big sister, Emma, age six.
Grandparents are Lanny and Lida Tinker of Hoxie and Audrey Hall of Pocahontas. They are the great-grandchildren of Gladys Tinker of Hoxie and great-great-grandchildren of Hazel Howell of Walnut Ridge.
Bob and Tina Watson of Brookland have announced the birth of a daughter on May 6, 2011, at NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro.
The baby weighed seven pounds, 15 ounces, and has been named Karalee Faith Watson.
Grandparents are Pat Lunsford of Paragould, the late Ernie Lunsford, who lived in Corning, and the late Jim and Karen Watson, who lived in Black Rock.
David and Eve Gates of Black Rock have announced the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Cassie Jo Gates, to Michael Steven Cochran, son of Steven and Karen Cochran of Aurora, Mo.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Betty and Bob Lee of Alicia. She is a graduate of Living Word Christian Academy and is attending Black River Technical College at Pocahontas. She holds her CDA in early childhood and is a teaching assistant at the Walnut Ridge Head Start.
The prospective groom is a homeschool graduate. He is a welder at Utility Trailers in Paragould.
The couple will exchange vows on Friday, June 24, at 6 p.m. at Faith of the Apostles Church in Walnut Ridge. All family and friends are invited to the wedding and reception to follow at the Hoxie Service Center.
Brenda Sue Malone Bragg Hibbard, 62, of Imboden, died June 9, 2011, at St. Bernards in Jonesboro.
She was born July 24, 1948, in Harrisburg.
She was preceded in death by her father, Cecil Malone; a brother, Gary Malone; and a sister, Gail Johnson.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby Bragg and Eric Bragg, both of Baytown, Texas; her mother, Kate Malone, Pocahontas; and two brothers, Ricky Malone and Ron Malone, both of Imboden.
Funeral was Sunday at 2 p.m. at Smithville Baptist Church with Harold Russell officiating. Burial was in Pleasant Grove Cemetery under the direction of McNabb Funeral Home of Pocahontas.
J.C. Jones, 72, of Walnut Ridge, died June 9, 2011, in Jonesboro.
He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and a construction worker for Jayco.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Sevella Usher Jones; three brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his wife, Kathie Jones; two daughters, Kathy Bargo and husband Michael, Smithville, and Melisa McGehee and husband John, Star City; three sons, Jay Jones, Lynn, Ray Jones, Texas, and Adam Jones, Cave City; a sister, Wilma Moore and husband Alvin, Tuckerman; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. The body was cremated.

Merrel Yvonne Kamery, 79, of Hoxie, died June 10, 2011, at her home.
Born Dec. 4, 1931, in Hoxie, she was the daughter of Herman and Ethel Hoggard Alphin. She was a lifelong resident of Lawrence County and worked as a C.N.A. for the Area Agency on Aging.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and a grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy Jones and husband Robert, Pocahontas, and Jan Householder, Walnut Ridge; a son, Glenn Dobbs, Little Rock; two sisters, Juanita Dulaney and Mary Dement and husband Leroy, all of Jonesboro; a grandchild, Deanna Dildine; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside service was Monday at 10 a.m. at Chesser Cemetery with Don House officiating. House-Gregg Funeral Home had charge of arrangements.

Dora Walker, 97, of O'Kean, died June 9, 2011, at White County Medical Center in Searcy.
Born Nov. 5, 1913, she was the daughter of Charles and Edie Rickey. She was a lifelong resident of O'Kean and had been a member of the O'Kean Free Will Baptist Church for 81 years. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lonnie Walker; two sons, Deloss Walker and Denver Walker; three brothers; a sister; two grandchildren, Wendell Bennett and Gregory Walker; and a son-in-law, Don Bennett.
Survivors include a son, Darrell Walker and wife Patricia, Jonesboro; two daughters, Joyce Bennett, Searcy, and Glenda Pigue and husband Von, Benton; 14 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at the O'Kean Free Will Baptist Church with Bros. Melvin Shelton and Aaron Winfrey officiating. Burial was in Lawrence Memorial Park under the direction of Emerson Funeral Home of Jonesboro.
Pallbearers were Jeff Walker, Wes Walker, Tommy Walker, Deloss Thomas Walker, Curtis Walker, Vince Pigue, Shane Pigue and Chris Pigue. Honorary pallbearers were the members of O'Kean Free Will Baptist Church.
Memorials may be made to O'Kean Free Will Baptist Church.

Robin Darlene Washburn, 44, of Springfield, Mo., granddaughter of Beulah Evans of Walnut Ridge, died June 5, 2011, at her home.
