WRMS presents top awards

Walnut Ridge Middle School presented top awards at a ceremony held May 24.

Students of Year

One student in each grade was named Student of the Year. They are: Kelly Lee, fifth grade; Cortney Winston, sixth grade; Madison Cox, seventh grade; and Aubree Hughart, eighth grade.

Most Valuable Attitude Awards

One male and one female student in each grade received the Most Valuable Attitude Award. Recipients are: Makayla Durham and Chaz Burgin, fifth grade; Madison Davis and Drew West, sixth grade; Angel Blair and Gavin Gunn, seventh grade; and Stephann Petty and Lane Kennedy, eighth grade.

Mack Davis Award

Aubree Hughart was named recipient of the Mack Davis Award, which recognizes the outstanding eighth-grade math student of the year. The award is named for the late Mack Davis, a former Walnut Ridge math teacher. The winner is eligible for a scholarship as a graduating senior.
