Blevins signs with Lady PioneersHillcrest softball standout Samantha Blevins has inked her commitment to play for the Lady Pioneers at Crowley's Ridge College in Paragould.
A four-time All-Conference selection, Blevins also received All-Regional Tournament and All-State twice, and All-State Tournament three times. She participated in the Rising Juniors' All Star games in Conway last summer and was nominated number one in Hillcrest's conference to play in this year's AHSCA All Star Game in Fayetteville in June.
As a senior for the Lady Screamin' Eagles, Blevins pitched 117 innings during 22 games. She allowed 59 walks and 117 hits, while striking out 180 batters.
During Blevins's innings of play, opposing teams scored 132 runs, only 42 of which were earned. She posted a 1.91 ERA for the year.
At the plate, Blevins recorded a .250 batting average with 15 hits during her 60 at bats. She also scored 30 runs for the Lady Screamin' Eagles.
"Samantha has been a great player for the Hillcrest softball team the past four years," Screamin' Eagles coach Shawn Rose said. "Her hard work, dedication and leadership will be everlasting; not only here, but at CRC and wherever and whatever she decides to do after that. She will be missed."
Blevins is the daughter of Sammy and LuAnne Blevins of Lynn. Also on hand for the signing was CRC coach Cindy Henry.
