WR, BR split softball gamesNathan HibbardStaff Writer Walnut Ridge and Black Rock split a softball double-header on April 6 at Black Rock, with Walnut Ridge winning the opener 8-1, and the Lady Zebras taking the nightcap 11-2. In the first game, Beth Massey batted 3-for-3 and scored two runs to key the Lady Bobcats' offense. Ashton Lawson went 2-for-2 and scored twice. Sabrina Knight and Christin Holsapple each had two hits and scored a run, and Ashlyn Cothern finished with two hits. Mackenzie Britton had a hit and scored once, and Allison Bridges scored a run. Hannah Massey started in the circle for Walnut Ridge and held the Lady Zebras to just two hits, while registering six strikeouts. Black Rock came back to win the second game 11-2. Knight had two hits to lead Walnut Ridge's offense, while Bridges, Britton, Makayla Daniels and Jessica Weisenbach each added one hit. Knight and Britton scored the Lady Cats' runs. |
