Lady Cats earn win

Beth Massey was a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate and scored three runs as Walnut Ridge's Lady Bobcats posted a 21-5 win over conference foe Marked Tree in high school softball action on Thursday at Stewart Park.

Also for the Lady Cats, Ashley Baker had a hit and scored three runs, and Sabrina Knight had one hit and scored twice. Amanda Emison and Ashton Lawson each had a hit and scored a run, while Ashlyn Cothern finished with two hits. Hannah Massey and Whitney Ward each scored three runs.

Hannah Massey moved to 6-2 on the season, allowing five runs on six hits, while striking out five.

The Lady Bobcats improved to 2-1 in 2A-3 conference play and 6-3 overall.
