EVENT RAISES $49K FOR ACH ~ Sebrina Smith (left) and Jennifer Ditto work the treasurer's table at the Lawrence County Circle of Friends' annual Tips for Tot event on March 5 at the Walnut Ridge Country Club. UAM makes
changes

Universal Asset Management plans to continue narrow body disassembly projects at its current facility in Walnut Ridge despite no longer being able to land wide body planes at the airport, according to Keri Wright, Chief Operating Officer for UAM.

ATOD Coalition receives
good news from survey

The ATOD (Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drugs) Coalition recently received a copy of the 2010 Arkansas Prevention Needs Assessment, showing improvement in some key areas of focus for the coalition.

Hoxie to purchase truck

At its meeting on March 8, the Hoxie City Council approved the purchase of a truck for the water and sewer department and discussed plans to help relieve drainage problems in the city.

Justices hear report on jail

Mike Kelly and James Langford, representing the SouthBuild Team in construction and architecture management, respectively, spoke to the Quorum Court Monday night regarding one option for plans to build a justice complex, including a jail. SouthBuild of Collierville, Tenn. specializes in building county jails.

Commission shreds mortgage

The Walnut Ridge Regional Airport Commission made the final payment on its terminal building and adjacent fire station on March 1 and shredded the mortgage at their meeting on Monday night.
