Walnut Ridge infielder Eric Wilcoxson tags a sliding Landon Reddell of McCrory in high school baseball action Thursday at Stewart Park. McCrory defeated the Bobcats 16-2. Walnut Ridge also dropped their season-opener to Valley View 7-1 on Tuesday before picking up their first win of the season against Hillcrest 19-5 on Friday.

Cats beat Hillcrest
Range Weeks slugged a grand slam and drove in five runs to power the Walnut Ridge Bobcats past Hillcrest 19-5 in high school baseball on Friday at Strawberry.
Walnut Ridge broke the game open with a 13-run fifth inning.
Weeks also earned the win on the mound, allowing one run on one hit, with two strikeouts.
Also for the Bobcats, Rowdy Ditto batted 3-for-4 and drove in three runs. Teague Phillips was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs, and Eric Wilcoxson had a grand slam.
Dylan Wooten hit a grand slam for Hillcrest.
