Motorcycle accident claims life

A Strawberry man was killed on Thursday when the motorcycle he was riding went out of control on Bold Springs Road between Strawberry and Cave City.

According to the Sharp County Sheriff's Department, Roy Upchurch, 29, was traveling northbound on a 1985 Honda 250 with no head lights at approximately 8:22 p.m. and hit a series of potholes.

Sharp County deputies, along with the Arkansas State Police, responded to the scene. Deputy Coroner Grace Richardson pronounced Upchurch dead at the scene.

A graveside service was held Saturday at Ward Cemetery, near Strawberry.
