"I wanted to support these tourism projects because I am an avid music fan, especially the Beatles, and I'm an avid fan
of Walnut Ridge and Lawrence County," said Cashion.
"I commute to Walnut Ridge one day a week in my position as a financial advisor with Morgan Keegan," he said. "As an outsider doing business in Walnut Ridge, I feel an obligation to support efforts to improve the community, and I have no doubt that the Beatles tribute and the Guitar Walk will be of tremendous benefit to the entire region."
Cashion is based at Regions Bank in Walnut Ridge on Thursdays. He is also a member of the local Kiwanis Club.
Charles Snapp of the tourism committee said, "The committee appreciates all the support we're receiving for the tourism projects, but Ted's support seems to highlight the impact we're looking for in a different way. Although Ted has limited ties to the Walnut Ridge and Hoxie area, he still recognizes the importance of the area's music history and understands the benefits this area will receive from tourism."
The Rock 'n' Roll Highway 67 projects include The Beatles "Abbey Road" metal sculpture and a guitar plaza or walk.
The Beatles monument will commemorate their September 1964 visit to the Walnut Ridge Airport, while the guitar
plaza will feature musicians who performed along the Rock 'n' Roll Highway.
