"We raised over $10,200," Baiza said. "It was beyond our wildest dreams, it was just amazing."
This was the first official roadblock for Make-A-Wish in Walnut Ridge and Hoxie, although Baiza has collected donations for the fund-raiser on his own for the past two years.

Walnut Ridge Mayor Don House told the city council at their meeting on Feb. 8 that he is still enjoying being mayor after six weeks in office. He said traffic in and out of city hall has been enormous.

LawCo. posts loss
of 359 since 2000
According to the 2010 Census figures, Lawrence County's population of 17,415 has declined since the 2000 Census, which reported 17,774 residents in the county. This is a loss of 359 people.
