The Hoxie Lady Mustangs won the senior girls division of the Lawrence County Tournament on Friday night. Lady Mustangs are county champs

A big fourth quarter lifted the Hoxie Lady Mustangs past Black Rock 42-29 in the senior girls final of the 2011 Lawrence County Basketball Tournament Friday night at Walnut Ridge.

The Lady Zebras got 12 first-half points from Haley Slusser in building a 19-13 lead after two quarters. The Lady Mustangs came back to outscore Black Rock 11-5 in the third period and the teams went into the final period deadlocked at 24-24. Hoxie dominated the fourth quarter 18-5 to claim the victory and the county championship.

Cayley Rosson scored 10 of her team-high 14 points in the second half to lead the Lady Mustangs. Leslee Parrish had 11 points, including three three-pointers. Kelsey Lewis had eight points, all in the final period. Neely Ragsdell scored four points, while Karina Mashburn had three and Autumn Nelson added two.

Slusser finished with 15 points for Black Rock. Sarah Penn scored six points, and Megan Jones hit a three-pointer. Devin Pickett and Christian Ervin had two points apiece, and Kaylie Hammock made a free-throw.
