AREA RECEIVES MORE SNOW ~ Joey Doyle (left) and Josh Dawson were on the job early Monday morning to clear snow and ice from sidewalks leading into Lawrence Hall Nursing Center. They said they had done the same thing on Saturday morning. Approximately three inches of snow accumulated Monday, while a Friday night and early Saturday snow brought approximately two inches. More snow is in the forecast for today.

NEARA sets grand opening

The Northeast Arkansas Regional Archives located at Powhatan Historic State Park will hold its grand opening on March 3. The public is invited to attend the opening, though those who want to do research may wish to wait until the following day.

Historical Society launches website

The Lawrence County Historical Society recently launched a new website at www.lchsar.org.

Golden Peanut encourages
farmers to plant Spanish crop

Golden Peanut Company's Dennis Robbins, a retired consultant who worked for the company for 35 years, met with local farmers on Thursday at Captain Catfish in Walnut Ridge to discuss peanut production in Lawrence County.
