Hoxie girls split with RivercrestNathan HibbardStaff Writer Rivercrest defeated Hoxie' Lady Mustangs 58-50 in senior girls basketball Friday night at Hoxie. The game was tied 16-16 after one quarter, before the Lady Colts took a 32-24 lead into halftime. Rivercrest held a 47-36 advantage into the final period. Cayley Rosson led Hoxie with 21 points, and Autumn Nelson added 12. The Hoxie junior high girls slipped past Rivercrest 35-34.
The Lady Mustangs fell to Manila 53-41 Thursday night at Manila. Manila led 9-6 at the end of the first quarter, 23-14 at halftime and 34-26 after three quarters. Rosson scored 18 points to lead the Mustangs. Hoxie won a junior girls game 42-32. The Manila seventh-grade girls defeated Hoxie 36-11.
The Hoxie senior girls defeated Piggott 57-42 on Jan. 24 at Hoxie. The Lady Mustangs led 19-14 at the end of the first quarter and 32-22 at halftime. Neely Ragsdell led Hoxie with 15 points, and Rosson added 12. The Hoxie junior high girls defeated Piggott 41-31. Piggott won a seventh-grade game 28-26.
