McDaniel visits LawCo.
Gretchen Hunt
Arkansas Attorney General Dustin McDaniel was in Lawrence County last Wednesday for an informal visit at the Lawrence County Courthouse. Several elected officials, as well as local residents, attended an impromptu gathering in the lobby of the courthouse, during which McDaniel spoke briefly. He told those in attendance that Northeast Arkansas, and in particular Lawrence County, is poised for good things. "Y'all have really got some exciting things happening," McDaniel said. "I believe our best days are yet to come." McDaniel also said he feels the county and region has good people representing them in Little Rock. He praised both newly-elected State Rep. James Ratliff of Imboden and Lawrence County's state senator, Robert Thompson of Paragould. He stressed that Lawrence County is right at the crossroads, economically and geographically. He said strong points for the county include an available labor force and a strong agriculture base. "There is no reason in the next 10 years we should not see growth - in economic development and in education opportunities for our young people," he said.
