Bobcats drop game to RectorA second-half rally propelled the Rector Cougars to a 66-57 victory over Walnut Ridge in front of a homecoming crowd at Walnut Ridge's Sharum Gymnasium Friday night.The Bobcats held a 30-20 halftime advantage before the Cougars rang up 28 points in the third quarter to take a 48-47 lead. Rector continued their strong play in the final period, outscoring the Cats 18-10 to take the win.
Range Weeks led Walnut Ridge with 16 points. Payton Poole and Chris Dickson each added 13 points.
County tourney begins SaturdayWalnut Ridge's Sharum Gymnasium will be the site of the 2011 Lawrence County Basketball Tournament, which begins on Saturday. The tournament will run through Feb. 5, with games scheduled for each night, except Wednesday. Matchups and times are as follows:continued...
