VFW Post marks

Davis-Tompkins-Hamilton Post 11300 of Walnut Ridge was recognized with the Golden Anniversary Award to mark 50 years as a post of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
The state VFW commander presented the award at the district meeting in Piggott on Jan. 16.
Post Commander William O'Barts of Black Rock, along with Billy Barber of Hoxie and David Erwin of Powhatan, attended the meeting and accepted the award.
The local post meets the third Thursday of each month at 2 p.m. at the Wings of Honor Museum, located at the Walnut Ridge Regional Airport.
"We invite members of our local post, as well as other posts, to attend the monthly meetings," O'Barts said.
