BR splits with CRA

Joe Paul Carey scored 18 points to lead the Black Rock Zebras to a 66-41 victory over Crowley's Ridge Academy in senior boys basketball Jan. 4 at Black Rock.

The Zebras led 32-22 at halftime and outscored their visitors 18-7 in the third quarter to open up a 50-29 lead heading into the final period.

Also for Black Rock, Khris Foster scored 15 points, while Tadd Fore and Sam Clem each had nine.

Senior girls

The CRA Lady Falcons slipped past the Lady Zebras 48-45 in a senior girls contest.

CRA led 15-7 lead after the first quarter, 22-19 at halftime and 35-28 after three quarters.

The Lady Zebras were led by Haley Slusser with 15 points, and Sarah Penn with 14.

The Black Rock junior high girls defeated CRA 30-28 in overtime.
